The plugin supports both:
A physical robots.txt file in the WordPress installation root.
WordPress’s built-in robots_txt filter when a physical file does not exist.
Features:
Edit and save robots.txt from the WordPress dashboard.
Reset the file to a sensible WordPress default.
Uses the official WordPress robots_txt filter.
Uses WordPress nonces and capability checks.
Uses the WordPress filesystem API with a controlled fallback.
Provides a default WordPress sitemap URL.
Prevents a public robots file from allowing crawling when WordPress search-engine visibility is disabled.
