Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records April's Call Posts version 2.2.1 as active, updated 1y ago and tested up to WordPress 6.8.

About this plugin

You have a variety of people who come to your blog looking for different information, and it’s hard for them to filter through everything. You can have a “Cats” page on which you talk about your stance on cats, and use [ahs_callposts] to also call in a list of posts in the “cats” category, perhaps only the most recent 10, perhaps just titles, perhaps displaying just excerpts, perhaps displaying an image for each post. Then have a separate page for the “dogs” category.
