Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Bazingaworld Recurring Events for The Events Calendar version 0.1.1 as active, updated 15d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

The free The Events Calendar has no recurring events. This plugin adds them.

Safe to try: every date this plugin creates is a normal The Events Calendar event. If you deactivate or delete the plugin, or if it stops working, all dates already created stay in your calendar. You lose only the automatic creation of new dates.

Set a rule on an event, for example “every Sunday at 10:00”. The plugin creates one normal event for each date, 12 months ahead, and keeps the window moving forward every day. When you edit the first event, all future dates update.

Past dates do not change.

  • Daily rules.
  • Weekly rules on one or more weekdays.
  • End date or no end.
  • Exceptions: dates without an event, for example Christmas.
  • Edit one date by itself: it leaves the series and keeps your changes.
  • Dates are created in the background, so saving an event never times out.
  • The admin events list shows each series once. The “Recurrences” view lists every date.

Pro adds:

  • Monthly rules on the same day of the month, for example the 15th.
  • Monthly rules on the same weekday of the month, for example the 2nd Sunday.
  • Yearly rules.
  • “Ends after N times”.
  • One line per series in your event lists on the site.

Free vs Pro

Free: every day, every week. Pro: every month, every year, one line per series in your event lists.

  • Rules. Free: daily, weekly. Pro: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, “ends after N times”.
  • Event lists on the site. Free: every date. Pro: the next date only, with the rule in words.
  • Exceptions, detach, generated dates hidden in the admin list: both.
  • Number of series: unlimited in both.

Pro costs $49 per year per site, $99 per year for 5 sites, or $199 for a lifetime license. When a Pro license expires, Pro features keep working. Only updates and support stop.

Pro pricing.

Free trial of Pro

Try Pro free for 14 days. You do not need a payment method. Start the trial from the “Upgrade to Pro” link in the Recurring Dates box.

The trial needs the Freemius opt-in. When the trial ends, monthly and yearly series stop creating new dates. The dates already created stay.

One line per series

With Pro, the list view and the events list widget show only the next date of each series, with the rule in words under the date, for example “Weekly on Sunday”. The month view, the day view and a list that starts at a chosen date show every date. To show every date in the lists too, turn off “Recurring events: next date only” in Events → Settings → Display → Calendar.

With a page cache, a cached list can show a date that has just ended until the cache expires.

Freemius

This plugin uses the Freemius SDK for licensing, updates of the Pro version and optional usage tracking. Nothing is sent without your consent: on activation you can click Skip, and the plugin works fully. If you click Allow, Freemius receives your site URL, WordPress and PHP versions, the plugin version, your name and email address, and whether the plugin is active.

If you buy Pro, Freemius handles the payment and the license. See the Freemius privacy policy and terms of service.
