blanc Honeypot for Contact Form 7

This plugin adds a hidden “honeypot” field to every Contact Form 7 form on your site. Real visitors never see or fill in this field, but simple spam bots that auto-fill every input on a page will. When the honeypot field is filled in, Contact Form 7 silently marks the submission as spam and no notification email is sent.

Key points:

• No settings screen — install, activate, and it works.

• The hidden field’s name is generated randomly per site, so it is harder for spam operators to learn and target.

• No CAPTCHA and no visible challenge for real visitors.

• Does nothing if Contact Form 7 is not installed or active — no admin notices, no errors.

• No external requests, no tracking, no data ever leaves your site.

This plugin does not modify your form templates, and it does not guarantee that all spam will be blocked. It is one additional layer of defense, best used alongside Contact Form 7’s own spam handling (and Akismet, if you use it).
