Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records BuddyPress Real Names version 0.3.5 as active, updated 13y ago and without a listed Tested up to version.
Overview
About this plugin
BuddyPress Real Names allows you to change the regular nickname displayed for a user to anything you want,
for example for displaying something like “John Smith”, “Smith John Mr”, “jsmith44 (John Smith)”, or any other combination of xprofile fields.
You can set rules to display names differently on their profile pages or in the members lists (eg. “John Smith” on the profile and “Smith John, Mr” in the lists).
When ordering members lists alphabetically, you can choose the priority of the fields that will be sorted!

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
