Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records CiteLure – AI Citation Engine version 1.0.1 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.0.

Overview

About this plugin

Search is changing fast, users are no longer clicking links, they’re reading answers generated by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok and Google AI Overviews.

CiteLure is a dedicated WordPress plugin built for the era of Generative Search. While traditional SEO helps you rank for clicks, CiteLure helps your content get cited and summarized by AI agents.

As AI-driven search (SGE/GEO) takes over, sites that don’t structure their data for Large Language Models (LLMs) risk losing visibility. This plugin provides the essential technical bridge between your WordPress site and AI crawlers.

Key Features in the Free Version

  • AI Snapshot Block: A specialized Gutenberg block to provide “Atomic Answers” that LLMs prioritize for summaries.
  • llms.txt Generator: Automatically creates a /llms.txt file at your root – it helps AI models understand your site’s structure.
  • AI Metadata Injection: Injects clean JSON-LD metadata optimized for generative retrieval and E-E-A-T signals.
  • Markdown Discovery: Enables a lightweight feed for AI agents to process your content without HTML bloat.

Note: This is the Core plugin. For advanced automation like AI-generated summaries and automatic entity mapping, check out CiteLure Pro.

The only question that matters now:

Is your site being cited… or ignored?

See It In Action

If you want to quickly understand how this works in real life, watch this short walkthrough:

What Happens After You Install

  • Your site becomes readable by AI agents
  • Your content becomes easier to summarize
  • Your pages become eligible for citations
  • Your visibility shifts from “ranked” to “referenced”

External Services

CiteLure connects to several AI APIs, depending on which features you choose to use. The plugin never sends anything unless you deliberately trigger an action such as generating text, creating an image, running a chatbot, or performing an embedding request. All calls are made using your own API keys, and no data is stored or shared by the plugin developer.

Below is a clear outline of each external service CiteLure can communicate with, what AI prompt text is sent and under which conditions. If you disable a service in the settings or never add its API key, CiteLure will not contact it.
