Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records CodeFaeries QuickFind: Admin Search & Command Palette version 1.0.7 as active, updated 6d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
CodeFaeries QuickFind adds a search field to the admin bar, opened with Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac). One query searches:
Posts, pages and custom post types (drafts and scheduled posts included) you are allowed to edit
Admin menu and submenu pages, filtered by your capabilities
Installed plugins, jumping straight to each plugin’s settings page
Core settings screens (administrators only)
It works alongside WordPress’s native Command Palette rather than replacing it: the palette runs commands and navigates; QuickFind searches your actual content, plugins and settings. When the native palette is present, QuickFind automatically uses Ctrl+Shift+K so the two never collide.
Results are grouped, keyboard-navigable (arrows + Enter) and respect user capabilities everywhere.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
