Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Bitcoin payment for Paid Memberships Pro version 1.0.6 as active, updated 14d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.0.

Overview

About this plugin

Add Bitcoin and Lightning payments to Paid Memberships Pro

Coinsnap for Paid Memberships Pro adds Bitcoin as a payment option to the existing Paid Memberships Pro checkout and membership workflow.

Members can pay with Bitcoin via Lightning or on-chain for membership levels, subscriptions, recurring plans, time-based access, supporter memberships, consulting access and restricted content.

Coinsnap or BTCPay Server

The add-on supports:

  • Coinsnap — accept Bitcoin without operating your own Bitcoin or Lightning payment infrastructure.
  • BTCPay Server — connect your own self-hosted BTCPay Server.

Memberships and recurring plans

Bitcoin can be used with membership levels, subscriptions and recurring plans configured in Paid Memberships Pro.

A successful Bitcoin payment can activate the configured membership period.

Bitcoin payments are not automatically renewed like a stored-card subscription. A member may need to complete the next Bitcoin payment manually unless the selected Lightning setup provides compatible subscription functionality.

Bitcoin discount

The current Coinsnap Paid Memberships Pro product supports an optional Bitcoin discount.

A fixed or percentage-based discount can be used to encourage members to choose Bitcoin.

Payment status mapping

Coinsnap tracks three payment states:

  • Expired
  • Processing
  • Settled

These can be mapped to the corresponding Paid Memberships Pro order/payment statuses.

Checkout and redirects

The Bitcoin payment option can be customized in PMPro checkout.

You can change the payment-button text, enable automatic redirect after successful payment and configure a custom return or thank-you URL.

Settlement

With Coinsnap, payments can be settled to a compatible Bitcoin or Lightning wallet.

One option is the Coinsnap Wallet.

Coinsnap follows a non-custodial / self-custody approach and does not hold merchant Bitcoin.

Depending on the merchant setup and supported partner integrations, Bitcoin payments can also be automatically converted and settled to a bank account.

Fees

Coinsnap charges a 1% transaction fee. The fee is handled separately through the merchant’s Coinsnap balance and is not deducted from the Bitcoin payment.
