Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Compact Monthly Archive version 1.0 as active, updated 18y ago and tested up to WordPress 2.3.
Overview
About this plugin
If your blog is over a year or two old, you may have noticed the list of archive pages is getting unwieldy.
This plugin is a widget that compresses the size of the arcgives list to two lines per year (three if the lines are narrow) rather than one line per per month.

Potential developers should check out the development history.
Finally, an obligatory plug for my blog, OddThinking.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
