Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Compressify Image Optimizer – WebP & AVIF version 1.0.2 as active, updated 2d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.0.

Overview

About this plugin

Compressify Image Optimizer helps you compress WordPress images, convert them to WebP or AVIF, and resize oversized uploads. Optimize new images automatically and process existing images in your media library in the background.

Smaller image files can reduce page weight and image transfer times. Compressify sends images to its external API for processing, so compression and conversion run outside your WordPress hosting environment.

Automatic image compression for new uploads

Enable automatic optimization to compress JPG, PNG, and WebP uploads without manually exporting each file. Choose an output format and adjust image quality to balance file size and appearance.

WebP and AVIF conversion

Convert supported images to WebP or AVIF, or keep a supported original format. Available output formats and usage limits depend on your Compressify plan. AVIF output requires a plan that includes it.

Bulk image optimization for your media library

Process images uploaded before you installed the plugin. Start a background optimization run from the WordPress dashboard and review processing progress and file-size savings.

Resize oversized WordPress images

Set a maximum image width to resize large images during optimization. This can reduce unnecessary image data before it reaches visitors’ browsers.

Image performance and Core Web Vitals

Reducing image size can help pages load faster. When an image is the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) element, a smaller file can help reduce its download time. Actual results depend on your images, theme, hosting, caching, and other page resources; compression alone does not guarantee a PageSpeed score or Core Web Vitals result.

Connect your Compressify account

A Compressify account and API key are required. A free plan is available with usage limits; paid plans provide additional capacity and features. Check current formats and limits at Compressify.

  • Install and activate the plugin.
  • Open the Compressify settings and connect your account with an API key.
  • Choose your output format, quality, and optional resize width.
  • Enable automatic upload optimization or start processing your existing library.
