Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Default Alt Text | SEO Plugin version 1.2 as active, updated 10mo ago and tested up to WordPress 6.9.
Overview
About this plugin
Default Alt Text is a lightweight SEO Plugin that helps improve your site’s SEO and accessibility by ensuring every image always has an alt attribute. If an image in the Media Library doesn’t have an alt text set, this plugin will automatically use the image’s title instead, on the front-end only,so your database remains untouched.
This is especially useful for sites with lots of images uploaded without alt text, helping you maintain better SEO and a more accessible site without editing each image manually.
