Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records DownloadMusic version 0.1 as active, updated 18y ago and tested up to WordPress 2.5.
Overview
About this plugin
This plugin was created to allow readers to download music that has been uploaded to a blog from a single page.
The plugin looks through the posts table in the wordpress database for all attachments that have a mime type of audio/*. It displays this when the reader looks at a page ( not a post ) named ‘Downloads’. The reader can then select the songs they wish to download, click on “Download All Selected” and download a zip file of all of the files selected, or they can simply download the single song they wish to listen to.
The list also lets users view the attachment page for a particular song, letting them leave comments.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
