Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records EgyDevInfo Manual Transfer Gateway for InstaPay version 1.0.1 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

An independent integration by EgyDevInfo. This plugin is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by InstaPay, the Egyptian Banks Company, the Central Bank of Egypt, WooCommerce or Automattic. “InstaPay” and “WooCommerce” are used only to identify the payment network and the e-commerce platform this plugin works with.

InstaPay has no public merchant API, so this plugin does not pretend to have one. It builds a proper checkout flow around the manual transfer Egyptian stores already do: it shows your InstaPay details on the order page, collects the transfer reference or a screenshot from the customer, and gives you a review screen where you confirm or reject each payment.

What makes it different from a generic “direct bank transfer” gateway: the customer sends proof back to you through the store instead of by WhatsApp or email, the order sits in its own dedicated status while you wait, and the whole thing ends in a two-button verification queue rather than in your inbox.

What you get:

  • An offline payment gateway that works on both the classic and the block checkout
  • Your account holder name, IPA, mobile number, bank, account number, IBAN, QR code and payment link shown on the order-received page, the My Account order page, and in customer emails
  • A unique transfer reference per order so you can match transfers in your bank app
  • A live countdown with an optional auto-cancel that releases reserved stock when the window closes
  • Customer proof submission: transfer reference, screenshot, or both, with server-side file validation
  • A verification queue under WooCommerce with Confirm and Reject buttons, and the same buttons on the order edit screen
  • Duplicate reference detection, so the same transfer reference cannot be claimed on two orders unnoticed
  • Separate Arabic and English text for every customer-facing field, with RTL-aware output
  • Minimum and maximum order totals, because personal InstaPay accounts have per-transaction limits
  • HPOS compatible. No build step, no external services, no third-party requests

This plugin does not verify payments automatically. Nothing can, without a licensed payment service provider. If you need automatic confirmation, use a CBE-licensed provider that offers InstaPay acceptance.

Privacy

This plugin stores data on your own site only. It makes no external requests, loads no remote assets, and sends nothing to EgyDevInfo or any third party.

When a customer submits proof of transfer, the plugin stores against that order: the transfer reference they typed, an optional short note, the uploaded screenshot or PDF if you ask for one, the submission timestamp, and a salted one-way hash of their IP address (used only to rate-limit submissions; the raw IP is never stored).

Uploaded files are kept until you delete the order or remove them manually, except that files belonging to orders cancelled, failed or refunded more than 30 days ago are pruned automatically.

Because the uploaded screenshots are bank-app screenshots, they can contain personal and financial information about your customer. Treat them as you would any other payment record, and cover them in your own store’s privacy policy.
