About this plugin
Leenkat Author Autocomplete provides a searchable author autocomplete interface for both the WordPress Classic Editor and Block Editor (Gutenberg). It is designed for editorial websites and other WordPress installations with many authors, editors, or eligible content users, where finding a specific author in the standard author interface can be inconvenient. The plugin keeps WordPress’s native post author workflow while providing a faster author-selection interface. Features Search eligible authors by display name. Search by WordPress username. Search by e-mail address. Search using partial names. Display the author’s avatar. Display username, e-mail address, and user role in search results. Show a loading indicator while searching. Show an immediate no-results notice when a search returns no matches. Validate manually entered full display names, usernames, and e-mail addresses. Restore the previously selected author when an unfinished or invalid search is cancelled. Support post types that use WordPress author functionality. Respect WordPress user capabilities for the current post type. Use the native WordPress post author field when saving. Support the Classic Editor. Support the Block Editor (Gutenberg). Translation-ready and RTL-compatible. No external services required. The plugin does not create a separate author system and does not replace WordPress user accounts. It improves the interface used to select an eligible WordPress user as the post author.
