A small plugin to re-enable infinite scrolling in the Media Library after WordPress 5.8 is released.
Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. WP PlugIndex currently records Media Library Enable Infinite Scrolling version 0.1.1 as active, updated 8mo ago and tested up to WordPress 6.9.
8 is released, infinite scrolling will be removed by default from the Media Library. See Trac ticket 50105 for the releated changeset and ticket 40330 for the historical context behind the decision.
This plugin, for the short term, is a global re-enabling of infinite scrolling in the Media Library for all users.
A potential future enhancement is to have a per-user setting, letting individual users decide what’s best for them.
Not yet marked as tested with WordPress 7.1. WordPress.org currently lists Tested up to 6.9.
“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
