Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Notices Panel version 1.1.0 as active, updated 12d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
Plugins, themes and WordPress itself fill the admin with notices, promos and warnings that push the real content down the page. Notices Panel keeps them out of the way without losing them, and without becoming one more thing to configure.
What makes it different from other notice managers:
Nothing is stored. No options, no database tables, no transients, no per-user state, no external requests. Deactivate it and the site is exactly as before.
Nothing is lost. Notices are moved, not suppressed. They come back on every page load until you dismiss them the usual way, so a security or maintenance warning cannot be silently buried.
Success messages stay in place. Confirmations such as “Post updated” and notices rendered inside forms or table rows are left where WordPress put them.
It works on the rendered page, not on the hooks. Notices printed late by JavaScript are collected too, and the counter goes down when you dismiss a notice, including the ones dismissed via AJAX.
Zero configuration. No settings page. A bell button in the admin bar (top right) shows how many notices are waiting and opens the panel on click. Developers get a single filter.
Customising what is collected
Use the mgsnp_selectors filter to change the CSS selectors of the notices moved into the panel. For example, to collect success confirmations too:
updated'; return $selectors; } );
Selectors are validated before use: any entry containing characters that do not belong in a plain CSS selector (such as braces, semicolons or slashes) is dropped.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
