Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records ModuleFest Pet Walker – Pet Walking Business Manager version 2.771.198 as active, updated 2d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Built for dog walkers, solo or with a team.

A walker’s hard problem is not the diary, it is the group. Six dogs are booked for eleven o’clock; two of them fell out in March, one must always walk alone, and the van seats five. ModuleFest Pet Walker holds that knowledge for you: mark which dogs walk alone and which don’t get on, and it warns you the moment a booking or group walk would put them together.

Also included: walk tracking with a route map you can share with the owner, walk reports with photos, off-lead consent, recall notes and a key safe register that refuses duplicate key numbers.

It is a complete booking and client system for a walking business: bookings, clients, dogs, invoicing and payments in one WordPress install the business owns outright, behind an installable, mobile-first staff app and a self-service customer portal.

It shows only the fields a walker actually needs — walk types with dog limits, solo and compatibility flags, off-lead consent and keys — rather than a general-purpose system you have to prune.

What you get

  • Bookings and calendar — drag-and-drop diary, recurring walks, group walks that list every dog, availability rules and a booking editor that fits on a phone
  • Clients and dogs — full history, per-dog care profiles, vaccination expiry warnings, recall and off-lead consent
  • Group-walk checks — a warning before you save a walk that puts a solo dog in a group or two dogs that don’t get on together
  • Walk tracking and reports — the route, photos and notes, sent to the owner as a link they open without logging in
  • Keys — a key safe register for the clients whose keys you hold
  • Invoicing and payments — deposits, scheduled auto-invoicing, statements you send or print, PDF and print output, and card payments through Stripe if you want them
  • Special prices — give a regular customer their own price for a walk or an extra, and every booking they make is charged it, in the office, the app and their own account
  • Customer portal — clients book, cancel, reschedule and pay themselves, without emailing you, and View as customer opens any client’s account from their record so you see exactly what they see
  • Installable app — works on any phone with no app store: the day’s walks in order, photos and walk reports, and it keeps working when the signal does not
  • Import and export — bring your existing clients in with a guided wizard; take everything with you whenever you like
  • Your branding — branded login and booking pages with QR codes
  • Demo data you can load and remove, so you can see the system working before you use it

Everything here is free

Everything this plugin contains is free to use in full, for as long as you like. Nothing is limited,

counted or timed, and nothing stops working after a while.

A separate paid plugin, ModuleFest Pet Walker Pro, is available from our website for businesses that want

more: reminders and newsletters, statements that send themselves, packages and sale prices, finance reports and a report builder,

mileage, accounting integrations, team members with rotas and commission, a round planner,

customer segments, waiting lists, loyalty cards, automations and website designs. You

never need it to run your business on this plugin, and this plugin never downloads or installs

anything.

Source code

Everything in this plugin is shipped as its original, human-readable source. Nothing is

compiled, bundled, transpiled or minified, and there is no build step: the files you install

are the files we edit.

  • The staff app is pwa/js/app.js (with pwa/js/passkey.js ), written by hand and kept as

one file so it works offline without a loader. Its comments are left in.

  • The customer booking wizard is assets/js/pc-customer-wizard.js.
  • Styles are plain CSS in assets/css/, admin/css/ and pwa/css/.

You are free to read, change and fork any of it under the GPL.

External services

ModuleFest Pet Walker keeps your data on your own site. It does not contact us or anybody else

on its own — no analytics, no telemetry, no licence check and nothing on a schedule.

Some features need an outside service to work. Every one is listed here, with what gets sent and

when. Anything marked only if you turn it on needs you to enter your own details or tick a

setting first, and sends nothing until you do.

Maps — OpenStreetMap, only if you turn it on. Settings → General → Maps and postcode lookup is off until you switch it on. With it on, when you open a route map (walk routes and the day’s round), your browser loads map

org, and the plugin fetches tiles server-side when it draws a

static map into a report. What is sent: the map area being viewed. No client or pet details are

ever included.

io (UK) and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (elsewhere), only if you turn it on.

With the same setting on, when a booking or client needs placing on a map or measuring for mileage, the client’s postcode

is looked up to get approximate coordinates. io. For a

business in another country (Settings → General → Country) it is sent to

org instead, or, where a client has no postcode, their address line.

Requests to Nominatim identify your site’s address, as their usage policy asks. No name, phone,

email or pet detail is ever sent. Results are cached, so a place is only looked up once.

App notifications — web push. If you or a member of staff allow notifications in the staff

app, new-booking alerts are delivered through the push service of that person’s own browser

(Google for Chrome, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for Safari). What is sent: a short notice that

something needs attention, encrypted so the push service cannot read it. Nothing is sent to

anyone who has not allowed notifications.

com, only when you press Subscribe. The About screen has a Get updates card. Only when you tick its consent box and press Subscribe, the plugin sends your name, your email, this site’s address and the plugin’s name and version to ModuleFest, so we can send you the Pet Walker newsletter you asked for.

Nothing is sent on activation, on a schedule or in the background, and the email address is not kept on your site. No feature depends on subscribing.

com/terms/

The following are all only if you turn them on:

  • Stripe ( api.stripe.com ) — card payments and deposits. Sends invoice amounts and the customer’s email to Stripe when you take a payment. https://stripe.com/gb/legal/consumer · https://stripe.com/gb/privacy
  • Twilio ( api.twilio.com ) — text messages to your customers. Sends the recipient’s mobile number and the message. https://www.twilio.com/en-us/legal/tos · https://www.twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy
  • WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) ( graph.facebook.com ) — WhatsApp messages. Sends the recipient’s number and the message. https://developers.facebook.com/terms/ · https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
  • PayPal.me — only if you enter your PayPal.me name. Invoices then show a “Pay with PayPal” link; the customer’s browser opens paypal.me with the amount due. The plugin itself sends nothing to PayPal. https://www.paypal.com/uk/legalhub/paypal/useragreement-full · https://www.paypal.com/uk/legalhub/paypal/privacy-full
  • Links that open another site in your or your customer’s browser — nothing is sent by the plugin itself. The Google Calendar link on a booking opens calendar.google.com with that booking’s date, time and service. A WhatsApp button opens wa.me with the customer’s number and the message, ready for you to send. https://policies.google.com/terms · https://policies.google.com/privacy · https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/terms-of-service · https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy
