About this plugin
PixCompress compresses JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF files in the WordPress media library while keeping the same filenames, URLs, and dimensions. Themes, page builders, and existing posts keep working.
All local features work after you activate the plugin. No license key, account, or payment is required to compress images, run Compress library, restore backups, or auto-optimize new uploads.
Why it is safe
- Public URLs never change
- Dimensions stay the same unless you turn on optional resizing
- Animated GIFs and animated WebP are skipped
- If compression does not shrink the file, or the result is invalid, the original is kept
- Originals are backed up privately so any image can be restored
- WebP copies are extra files unless you enable replacement
Easy admin
- One-click Compress library from PixCompress → Dashboard

- Quality presets: visually lossless, balanced, smaller files, or custom
- Automatic optimization of new uploads (Settings)
