Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Provedly – Verified Sales Popup & Social Proof for WooCommerce version 1.1.2 as active, updated 2d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Provedly adds a sales popup to your WooCommerce store: recent sales notifications like “Maria L. just purchased Linen Shirt”, a live visitor counter, a real order count and countdown timer bars. It is social proof and FOMO built only from real data, so every notification is something your shoppers can check.

Features

  • Recent sales notifications from your WooCommerce orders, with the buyer’s first name and last initial (you choose the name format), city, product and time.
  • Verified purchase mark on every order that reached Provedly over a webhook signed with your secret.
  • Live visitor counter: a real count of visitors on the page in the last 90 seconds. No setting can raise it.
  • Real orders bar: how many verified orders your store took in the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, hidden below a minimum you set.
  • Countdown timer and announcement bars: countdowns to a date, evergreen timers and plain announcement bars with a button.
  • Verification page: every badge links to a public page your shoppers can check.
  • Attribution: see which orders followed a notification the buyer saw.
  • Lightweight: one small async script, rendered in a Shadow DOM so it does not clash with your theme.
  • Preview before connecting: the plugin page shows an example notification and bar, and how many of your recent orders could appear.

Why verified, not fake FOMO

Many sales popup plugins invent buyers, loop the same orders or show a visitor count that is just a random number. Shoppers notice, and it costs you trust. Provedly only shows what really happened:

  • Orders arrive from WooCommerce over a webhook signed with your secret, and only those get the “Verified purchase” mark.
  • The live counter cannot be set or inflated.
  • Countdown bars end when they say they end. Evergreen timers are disclosed as per-visitor on the public verification page.

One-click connect

Connecting takes one click: no tokens or code to copy. This plugin then does three things: loads your Provedly notifications and bars on every page through one small site loader script, creates the WooCommerce webhooks that deliver orders to Provedly (one for new orders, one for status changes), and passes the widget’s anonymous visitor id to the order so Provedly can tell you which orders followed a notification.

The notification widget and the bars work on any WordPress site. Verified purchases need WooCommerce.

Free plan

app includes 2,000 impressions a month, with verified purchases included. Paid plans add more impressions.

This plugin is free software under the GPLv2 or later, like every plugin in this directory: you can read, change and share its code. Provedly itself (the dashboard, the verification pages and the notification service) is a hosted service with its own terms and is not part of this plugin.

External services

app), a hosted social-proof service, only after you click “Connect to Provedly” or enter a widget token or webhook URL on its settings page. It makes no network requests before that.

What is sent and when:

  • When you click “Connect to Provedly”, your browser goes to provedly.app with your site address, your site name, whether WooCommerce is active and a one-time security code. After you confirm, WordPress sends the one-time code and your site address to provedly.app once, to receive your site key, the WooCommerce webhook URL and its signing secret.
  • Storefront pages load the widget and bar scripts from provedly.app and send them anonymous usage events (page path, a random visitor id stored in the shopper’s browser, and the notification shown or clicked). Provedly stores only a hash of the visitor id.
  • When an order is placed or its status changes, WooCommerce delivers the order to your Provedly webhook URL over HTTPS, signed with the secret you chose: customer name, city, state, country, line items, total, currency, order id and the visitor id from the order meta. Card numbers and full street addresses are never sent.
