Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Pushpad Web Push Notifications version 2.1.2 as active, updated 2y ago and tested up to WordPress 6.6.
Overview
About this plugin
Pushpad is the easiest way to add push notifications to your website. The plugin uses the W3C Push API, which is a standard for push notifications supported by all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari).
Push notifications re-engage your users by notifying them when you publish something new. They receive your notifications even when they are not surfing your website and they don’t need to install any app or plugin.
This plugin offers the following features:
Collect subscribers that want to receive your notifications
Send push notifications directly from WordPress when you publish something new
This plugin includes the Pushpad widget and allows you to collect subscribers in different ways:
prompt: a custom prompt that asks users to subscribe to notifications
bell: a floating action button that allows users to subscribe to notifications
button: a customizable button that can be placed anywhere on your website to allow users to subscribe or unsubscribe from notifications
