Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Really Simple Gallery Widget version 1.4 as active, updated 9y ago and tested up to WordPress 4.8.
Overview
About this plugin
Really Simple Gallery Widget adds a widget to display images from the Media Library, no extra uploading or creating custom post types required. You can choose to show images from a specific post/page, the entire media library, or a specific set of attachment IDs. On single pages/posts, you can also show only images attached to the item currently being viewed.
Especially helpful if your galleries are based on what’s attached to a post and you want to be able to easily display those images in a widget area.
