Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Simple File Upload Limiter version 1.1.0 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
Simple File Upload Limiter lets you set a different maximum upload size for each kind of file, right from the WordPress admin. Users can’t upload files that exceed the limits you define, which helps you keep your server resources and media library under control.
Features:
Separate limits for images, documents, audio, video and other file types.
Limits defined in kilobytes (KB).
One simple settings page under Settings > File Upload Limiter.
A clear error message tells the user which limit was exceeded.
Looking to limit uploads by user role instead of by file type? Take a look at Simple Upload Weight Limit.
