Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Smooth API Accelerator version 1.4.6 as active, updated 19d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Smooth API Accelerator turns selected WordPress REST API responses into static JSON snapshots that can be delivered globally through Smooth Bundle CDN.

It is built for headless WordPress websites, mobile apps, and frontend applications that repeatedly request the same WordPress content.

Instead of making WordPress and PHP generate the same REST response for every request, your frontend can fetch cache-friendly JSON files directly from the CDN, reducing WordPress server load and making content delivery more predictable.

Built for headless WordPress

  • Next.js, Astro, React, Vue, Nuxt, SvelteKit, or Remix frontends
  • Mobile applications
  • Public content APIs
  • High-traffic pages or feeds

Why use API Accelerator?

  • Serve WordPress REST content as CDN-delivered JSON
  • Reduce repeated PHP and database work
  • Automatic refresh after content changes
  • Use with Next.js, Astro, React, Vue, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Remix, or mobile apps
  • Sync selected endpoints without maintaining custom export scripts
  • Protect selected JSON endpoints when required
  • Use the frontend SDK for easier integration

How it works

  • Connect your WordPress site to Smooth Bundle.
  • Choose the REST API responses you want to accelerate.
  • Sync JSON snapshots to Smooth Bundle.
  • Use those JSON files from your frontend, app, or external client.

External services

This plugin connects to Smooth Bundle to sync and deliver JSON snapshots outside your WordPress site.

It communicates with Smooth Bundle when you:

  • start or complete the account or guest connection flow,
  • fetch account or project information needed to show connection, plan, and storage status,
  • upload selected JSON snapshots,
  • delete previously synced JSON snapshots.

Depending on the action, the plugin may send:

  • your site URL and site name,
  • authentication data needed to complete the Smooth Bundle login flow,
  • account and project identifiers required to manage the connection,
  • selected REST API response data that you choose to sync,
  • asset paths, filenames, and protection settings used to manage synced files.
