Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. WP PlugIndex currently records Spectacu.la Advanced Search version 1.0.3 as active, updated 16y ago and tested up to WordPress 2.9.
This plug-in provides you with more relevant search results than are currently
available to the normal WordPress search and it should also do so with less of a
performance hit on the db than the normal WordPress search. We use the MySQL
commands MATCH () AGAINST () as opposed to WordPress’ use of LIKE to do our
queries which are not as heavy on the db. The only issue we have with “match
against” is that we need an index on the columns we intend to search on.
Not yet marked as tested with WordPress 7.1. WordPress.org currently lists Tested up to 2.9.
“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
