Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records StatCounter Popular Posts version 0.2.2 as active, updated 10y ago and tested up to WordPress 4.4.
Overview
About this plugin
Displays Popular Posts From StatCounter stats as a widget. Only you have to do is make the stats public and give the project ID to this plugin.
You can configure which type of stats (pageviews, visitors) should be used to display the popular posts and no of items to be displayed.
IMPORTANT NOTE – As far as the test I done, this plugin works on WP blogs with slug URLs as Post Name. com/my-post-1
I can’t guarantee that it work on other slugs. But, you can try it and it may or may not work. com/ask/statcounter-popular-posts
