Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records The 404er version 1.1.3 as active, updated 12y ago and tested up to WordPress 3.9.
Overview
About this plugin
Do you have a blog that really only want ready by humans? Do think that
txt? Is privacy your number one concern? ”?
Then this plugin is for you. The 404er will make every public page of your blog return a 404 instead of the normal 200. Yes, you could use the normal privacy subpanel, but that would be sooo pedestrian.
Step up to the real (excessive, RFC abbusing ) 404!
Note: If you did not detect any humor in the above text or you do not know what a 404 is, then, in all caps, DO NOT INSTALL THIS PLUGIN!
