Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Thomas the Bear version 1.0.0 as active, updated 6mo ago and tested up to WordPress 6.9.
Overview
About this plugin
Thomas is a small teddy bear. He first appeared as a hidden Easter egg
inside Google Picasa, placed there by the development team as a tribute
to Noah Grey — photoblogging pioneer, creator of Greymatter, and one of
the people who built what the web was supposed to be.
When Google discontinued Picasa in 2016, Thomas disappeared. This plugin
brings him back.
Keyboard shortcuts:
Ctrl+Shift+Y — Summon Thomas. Press repeatedly for more bears.
Ctrl+Shift+Z — Read the story of Noah Grey and Thomas.
ESC or Click — Clear all bears.
Thomas loads on the front end only. No admin pages, no settings,
no database tables. Just a bear.
