Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records UKH Pre-Update Backup Rollback version 1.0.3 as active, updated 2mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
UKH Pre-Update Backup Rollback prevents the most common WordPress disaster: a site going down after an update.
Every time you update WordPress core, a plugin, or a theme, this plugin automatically creates a snapshot of your wp-content directory and database first. If anything breaks, restore your entire site to its pre-update state with one click — no technical skills needed.
Features
Automatic pre-update backup — snapshot taken before every core, plugin, or theme update
Manual backup — create a backup anytime from Tools → UKH Pre-Update Backup
One-click rollback — restore files and database to any previous snapshot
Full snapshot — complete wp-content (themes, plugins, uploads) + full database dump
Multiple backups — keep several restore points, delete old ones when not needed
Protected storage — backups are stored in wp-content/upbk-backups/ and blocked from direct web access
How it works
Before an update runs, the plugin automatically creates a snapshot (files + database)
If your site has problems after the update, go to Tools → UKH Pre-Update Backup
Click “Rollback” on the latest backup — your site returns to its exact pre-update state
Who needs this?
Sites that cannot afford downtime (business, e-commerce, membership)
Developers testing plugin/theme updates on production sites
Anyone tired of manually restoring backups after a bad update

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
