Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records UpNext Reader Vote version 1.0.4 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.
Overview
About this plugin
UpNext Reader Vote adds a small yes / no question to the content you choose.
Turn it on per public content type: posts, pages, or a custom type such as reviews.
Add it automatically at the end of the content, or place the shortcode [upnext_reader_vote] yourself.
Give a content type its own question. A review can ask “How was this review?” while posts keep the default question.
Change the default question, the Yes and No labels, and the thank-you note.
See the totals in the posts list, as numbers and as a bar.
A visitor can vote once per post in the same browser. The choice is stored in a cookie for the number of days set in the plugin (365 by default), and they can change it. Changing a vote moves the total from one answer to the other.
The plugin stores only the two totals. It does not store a name, email address, or IP address.

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
