Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →
WP PlugIndex currently records Visitor Maps Extended Referer Field version 1.2.6 as active, updated 12y ago and tested up to WordPress 3.7.
Overview
About this plugin
Extend the Visitor Maps and Who’s Online plugin by Mike Challis with this handy plugin. This plugin adds additional features, such as IP and referer banning. It also alters the Referer column for the Admin’s Who’s Been Online grid, displaying the referring host name followed by the search string, if there is one.
Referer links are proxified so you can click them without exposing your referring address. Long URLs are prevented from expanding the Who’s Been Online grid too wide for viewing. htaccess, which is automatically backed-up before any changes are made.
