Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records VisitorAtlas version 2.6.23 as active, updated 6d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

VisitorAtlas shows where your website audience comes from.

See VisitorAtlas in action on the live demo.

Use [visitoratlas] or the compatible [ps_live_visitor_globe] shortcode.

Add display=”n” to either shortcode to hide that display while sitewide tracking continues.

Core includes Globe and North-Pole-centered Polar Azimuthal projections, Satellite / Natural Earth and photorealistic maps, live and historical visitors, site/page

scope controls, an administrator-selected visitor period, approximately 100-mile

regional zoom, click/tap visitor details, a date-filtered acquisition dashboard, and a separate UTM link builder

with saved-link history,

and WordPress/Ultimate Member account attribution. Core can also email a branded,

timezone-aware weekly summary with traffic, pages, countries, sources, comparisons,

and conversion events. Existing conversion storage

and trusted PHP APIs remain available for compatibility and extensions.

Administrators choose the default projection and can optionally expose an icon-only

Globe/Polar switch to visitors. Polar mode mathematically reprojects the selected

2:1 equirectangular texture, uses the WordPress site clock for seasonal daylight,

uses a fixed 90-degree top-down North Pole view, masks geography and dims visitor

markers outside a hard-edged oval daylight cutout in an administrator-selected

top, right, bottom, or left position, supports bounded placement panning within

the frame, disables stars, and provides a numeric black-area alpha control that

can reveal the underlying map and visitor markers without altering

visitor records. Existing

installations continue to use Globe with the public projection switch off until

an administrator changes them. Administrators can rotate the complete Polar Sun

and geographic daylight field in 90-degree increments.

VisitorAtlas Pro is a separate add-on. It supplies Elementor Forms, configurable MailPoet,

Mailchimp for WordPress, Gravity Forms and WPForms adapters; Political, Dark

Earth, Light / Minimal, Country, Acquisition, and Visitor Heat Map styles; custom

Media Library textures; detailed acquisition and conversion reports; and bot traffic

reports. Pro is not embedded or payment-locked inside core.

All administration is under VisitorAtlas. Core registration and the public map

credit are optional and off by default. No remote executable scripts or

advertising SDK are included.

Privacy and external services

When IP geolocation is enabled, your server sends a visitor’s server-observed IP

is/ to obtain approximate city/region/country and coordinates.

This service is off by default on NEW installations; enable it in Settings after

reviewing your site privacy requirements. Existing installations retain their

prior enabled behavior. io/terms

No raw IP is stored in plugin tables. Approximate coordinates are rounded to two

decimal places; zoom never increases the accuracy of the underlying location.

The plugin uses a browser identity/first-acquisition cookie and browser storage,

retains salted identifiers, visited page paths without query strings, approximate device type and browser family, acquisition

source/medium/campaign, timestamps, and linked WordPress user IDs where available.

For detected bots it also stores a category, type, and recognized name, but not

the full user-agent string. Detected bot visits follow the same retention setting.

Conversion storage retains attribution and hashed external event identifiers;

provider form fields and email addresses are not copied into conversion rows.

Administrators control exclusions and retention. Public map data includes

approximate places, page paths and visit times. Review whether displaying it is

appropriate for the pages where you place the shortcode.

No privacy consent manager is included. Integrate with your site’s consent

workflow where required. Turning off geolocation does not disable acquisition.

Existing retention cleanup remains active unless Unlimited is enabled. Changing

Visitors since only filters the display. Deactivation/deletion does not purge

stored plugin tables or options.

Core registration is off by default. Administrators may explicitly enable it in

VisitorAtlas > Settings. When enabled, Core sends the WordPress home URL,

administrator email, generated installation token, and Core version to

io/api/core/v1/installation/ on activation and when the

setting is enabled. Deactivation sends an inactive status and any reason the

administrator chooses to provide. This supports the Core Activations record and

Core update notices to active installations. Visitor analytics and visited page

paths are not sent with Core registration. Administrators may disable registration

io.

io/ and is also off

by default. Both choices can be changed in Settings. See the

VisitorAtlas privacy policy.
