Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Visitors Notify version 0.6 as active, updated 15y ago and tested up to WordPress 3.2.

Overview

About this plugin

Upgrade Notice:

ro), after update you may notice that now you have 2 versions of the plugin, one updated (ver. 5 ), and one still not updated (ver. The inconvenient comes from a mistaken “underscore” which was suposed to be a hyphen, so wordpress won’t recognize that folder on update.

The plugin is a win-win model type, on one hand – for all the times when the user doesn’t feel or doesn’t have anything to comment, but he still marks his visits on your blog, and on the other hand – he gets “repaid” for his visit by listing his name under the posts he visited.

The plugin list the visitors name based on their cookies, if no cookies then a submit form will show up.

For preventing spam, displaying the visitor’s name will need at least one comment approved.

You can setup the plugin to show the name as link(if any) or text

“Tested up to” is directory metadata supplied by the plugin author. WP PlugIndex does not turn an older declaration into a claim that the plugin is incompatible.
