Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

Switching off all RSS feeds in your WordPress installation
Restricting access to authorized users by requiring a password for access
Removing descriptions and excerpts from the feed
Removing author names from the feed
Removing WordPress version numbers from the feed

Delaying feed publication (anti-scraper buffer) with a configurable delay time
RSS is a type of web feed that allows your readers to automatically get new content in email newsletters and RSS feed readers.
RSS feeds can be useful for your website when running a blog but are unnecessary if using WordPress as a basic website builder or ecommerce site. Some blog posts may also be gated content and be intended to be visible by authorized users only.
