About this plugin
wisegear Admin Lab makes supported WordPress admin screens feel like your workspace. The free Appearance edition works indefinitely without a license key, account, subscription, or connection to wisegear.
- Light, dark, system, and native WordPress appearance.
- Site or agency name, logos for light and dark backgrounds, and a brand color with derived accessible control colors.
- Comfortable or compact spacing, reduced motion, and higher contrast.
- Personal appearance and comfort preferences in each user’s profile.
- An optional native WordPress admin color scheme that respects a person’s existing color choice.
- A toolbar appearance switch, native-appearance recovery, and a temporary per-user safe mode.
- A site-wide WGAL_SAFE_MODE recovery constant.
Appearance starts disabled. Preview your settings at Settings > Admin Lab, then enable when ready. Styling is limited to supported core admin screens; it does not restyle arbitrary third-party plugin pages or your public website.
The separate paid Admin Lab edition adds Copy, Environment, Toolbar customization, Notices, Dashboard customization, Menu, Roles, and Fleet tools, including login branding and managed defaults for client sites. Those modules are not included in this plugin. Free Appearance has no time limit.
