Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records Zapify version 1.9.0 as active, updated 12d ago and tested up to WordPress 7.1.

Overview

About this plugin

Zapify automates WordPress in one sentence: when this happens, do this.

Pick a trigger — an order is completed, a form is submitted, a user registers. Pick what should follow — send an email, grant a role, create a post, call a webhook. Set it live.

That is the whole product.

It is a simple, self-hosted alternative to Zapier, Make, n8n, Uncanny Automator, AutomatorWP and Thrive Automator for the things that happen inside your WordPress site — with no per-task pricing, no monthly quota, and no round trip to somebody else’s server.

⚡ Build an automation in a minute

  • When this happens — choose a trigger from any plugin you already run
  • Do this — add one action, or a dozen, in the order you want them
  • Set it live — Zapify binds it to the right WordPress hook and gets out of the way

Every value you type can carry a placeholder — the order total, the person’s email, the field they filled in — and the builder lists what is available at each step, so you are picking from a list rather than guessing at a variable name.

💝 Why Zapify

>

➡️ The logs tell you what actually happened — every run records what each action was given after your placeholders were filled in, written down before the action runs. ” is answered on the screen instead of in your imagination.

➡️ Webhooks are free, both ways — every automation can be started by an inbound webhook and can call out to one, on the free plan. If you already run n8n, Make or Zapier, Zapify is the WordPress half you were missing.

➡️ Multiple triggers are free — one automation can watch several things at once, and require all of them or any of them, without paying for the privilege.

➡️ Nothing is deleted when a licence lapses — anything using a paid feature is marked inactive with the reason stated, and resumes the moment your licence does.

➡️ It stays out of the way — a page view on a site with no matching automation costs no database queries of Zapify’s own. Integration code loads only when something actually uses it.

➡️ Your data stays yours — automations run on your server. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you build an action that sends it.

Features

Everything below is in the free plugin.

>

🧩 A visual builder, not a settings screen

Triggers and actions as cards you can read at a glance, reorder by dragging, and edit in place. No modals, no wizard.

👉 23 triggers and 18 actions out of the box

Posts, users, roles, comments, terms, page views, WooCommerce orders and purchases, and four form plugins.

🔀 Several triggers on one automation

Require all of them, or any of them. Free on every plan.

🪝 Any hook in WordPress

The custom hook trigger takes any do_action name from core, a theme, or any plugin — and its listen mode shows you what that hook passes, so you can build placeholders from something Zapify has never heard of.

📥 Incoming webhooks

Start an automation from anything that can send an HTTP request, with signature verification, rate limiting and a per-source key. Up to three sources on the free plan; one source can feed any number of automations.

📤 Outgoing webhooks

Call any URL as an action, with your own headers and body, guarded against SSRF.

🧾 Run logs that resolve

Filterable history showing every action’s configuration with the placeholders already substituted, plus the reason anything was skipped. Seven days of retention on the free plan.

🎛️ Live, Draft and Off, per step

Switch a whole automation, or a single trigger or action, without deleting anything. Turning an automation off leaves each step exactly as you set it, so turning it back on restores what you had.

📚 32 ready-made templates

Start from a working automation and change the parts you care about.

🧰 Utilities

Write a note to the log, and set a variable one step can hand to the next.

⚙️ Tools and system status

Rebuild the hook map, see what Zapify has bound, and copy a full environment report for support in one click.

Premium Features

>

🎚️ Conditions on automations and actions

Gate a whole automation, or one action inside it, on conditions of your choice — so one automation covers the cases that would otherwise need four.

🧠 Advanced conditions

Nested condition groups, unlimited rules, and the pattern and date comparisons.

⏱️ Delays

Run an action minutes, hours or days after the trigger fires.

🔀 Routes

Branch one automation into several, each with its own condition, instead of maintaining one automation per case.

🔁 Loops

Run a set of actions once for every item in a list — every line item on an order, every row in a payload.

🕗 Scheduled automations

Run on a clock rather than in response to anything — every hour, every Monday morning, or once at a moment you pick, with no trigger at all.

📦 Bulk automations

Run across a set you choose — every subscriber, every draft post — instead of waiting for each one to do something.

🖱️ Buttons

Put a button or link on any page with a shortcode and let people start an automation by clicking it.

🔐 Webhook auth, signing and retries

Reusable auth profiles, request signing, retry policies, and unlimited incoming sources.

🔍 Dry-run and bulk replay

Ask why an automation did not match a delivery, and re-run a filtered set at once.

👤 Advanced subject resolution

Skip a delivery when its person has no account, or create one from the payload.

♻️ Retry a failed run

Re-run a failed automation from the logs without rebuilding it.

🗄️ Extended log retention

Keep run history beyond seven days and export it as CSV.

🔗 Connections

Store credentials and OAuth connections for external services once, and use them across every automation.

📤 Import and export

Move automations between sites as JSON.

For developers

Zapify publishes a small, stable extension surface — register your own integrations, intercept the engine, rewrite placeholder values — and ships a sample integration plugin to copy. See the docs/ folder inside the plugin.

Privacy and external services

Zapify does not phone home. Automations run on your own server, and the free plugin sends data to a third party only where you have explicitly built it to: an outgoing webhook goes to the URL you enter, and the premium integrations talk to the service you connect them to, using the credentials you supply. Each of those requests happens only when an automation you created runs.

Licensing and optional usage tracking are handled by Freemius ( terms, privacy ). Usage tracking is opt-in — the plugin works fully without it, and declining changes nothing.
