About this plugin
Pircel is your all-in-one delivery management solution. Enhance your e-commerce experience and streamline order-delivery flow.
Configuration
- From the WordPress admin sidebar, navigate to Settings > Pircel.
- Fill the settings in the General tab as instructed by Pircel.
External Services
This plugin connects the store to Pircel’s own service. If the merchant turns on error reports, it also reports its errors to Sentry, and if Pircel sets up alerts, it emails Pircel through Mailgun.
Pircel API
The plugin is the store’s connection to Pircel, which prices delivery at checkout, books shipments with carriers and tracks them. It calls the API URL set in the plugin’s settings, over HTTPS only (plain HTTP is allowed to a local development host). It sends:
– When the store connects to Pircel: the store’s web address and currency, the plugin version, an id the plugin keeps for this site, the WooCommerce REST API key the plugin creates for Pircel, and the address and secret Pircel signs its change notices with.
Connecting takes the admin’s browser to Pircel to approve the store, with the store’s address, the admin page to come back to, that site id and the store’s current connection id; Pircel sends back a one-time code, which the plugin redeems with a verifier it kept for the store’s own key.
– At checkout, each time the delivery destination, the cart or the payment method changes: the destination’s country, region, city and postcode; the cart’s products (title, description, SKU, price, quantity, weight, dimensions, categories and customs codes); the cart’s totals; and the payment method. No name, street, phone, email or order note. When the store offers carrier options, such as Saturday delivery, the same details are sent once more for each option, to price it.
– When an order is placed or paid: the order’s id, the recipient’s name, street, phone and email, the customer’s order note, the details given for a Recipient Logistics delivery, the chosen shipping rate and carrier option, the payment method, the order’s totals, and how the order was placed.
– After that, whenever the order changes: its address and recipient, items, totals, payments and refunds, payment method and holds, so Pircel’s shipment matches the order; a cancellation when the order is cancelled, fails, is fully refunded or is deleted; and reads of what changed at Pircel, such as labels, tracking numbers and delivery progress.
– When WooCommerce erases an order’s personal data: a request to erase that order’s shipment data, with the customer’s email and phone.
– When WordPress exports a customer’s personal data: the ids of that customer’s orders that have a Pircel shipment, so Pircel can email the store’s users links to those shipments. No name, address or contact detail.
Pircel also calls the store: when one of its shipments changes, Pircel posts a signed notice holding no order data to the store’s REST route /wp-json/pircel/v1/sync-hint, and the plugin then reads the changes from Pircel. A delivery address, recipient name, company or phone changed in Pircel is written to the WooCommerce order. Customers get their tracking number and a link to Pircel’s tracking page for their parcel, in an order note, the Completed order email and My Account.
The plugin keeps a copy of what it sent for each order’s shipment, and removes the recipient from that copy 90 days after the shipment is final. WordPress’s privacy policy guide (Settings > Privacy) suggests a paragraph for the store’s privacy notice saying what Pircel does with a shopper’s address.

Sentry error reporting
Off by default. Only when the merchant turns on “Send Error Reports” in the plugin’s settings does the plugin report, on a production site, its own errors and checkouts where it could not show or price shipping rates to Sentry, which Pircel uses to find and fix faults. A report holds only:
– The error message and stack trace, with file paths inside the WordPress install.
– The plugin, WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions, the server’s operating system, the store’s currency, tax and shipping settings and active payment methods, and the shop’s name or a tag Pircel sets.
– The page’s address without its query string, and what kind of request it was (method, AJAX, cron, cart or checkout page).
– For an order: its id, status, totals, currency, payment and shipping method, how it was created and its item count.
– For a shipment: its id, carrier, service, status and cost.
– For a checkout without rates: the cart’s total and item count, the destination country, the payment method, the theme and shipping-related plugins, and how the rates section looked on the page.
A report never holds an IP address, browser user agent, request headers, query string, referrer, form field, user or customer id, or anyone’s name, address, email or phone.

Mailgun alert emails
php. The plugin then emails Pircel through Mailgun’s API when an order’s shipment is stuck, missing or could not be created. The email holds the order’s id, status and dates, the reason, and the order’s diagnostics, which include its billing and shipping addresses and contact details.
