Repository metrics are context, not quality scores. Active installations measure adoption and can strongly reflect a plugin’s age and historical popularity. Ratings, recent updates and “Tested up to” metadata also do not guarantee modern code, error-free operation, security, feature completeness or suitability for a particular site. Why active installs don’t tell the whole story →

WP PlugIndex currently records ProductKnowledgeGraph – Is AI Recommending Your Competitor Instead? version 0.2.1 as active, updated 1mo ago and tested up to WordPress 7.0.

Overview

About this plugin

Shoppers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI answers which

product to buy. Each answer is a decision made before anyone reaches your

store. So the questions that matter are:

  • When a buyer asks AI what to buy, does it show your product?
  • If it does, does it describe the product correctly — the right variant,

the right specs, the right use case?

  • When it picks a competitor instead, why?
  • Does it send the buyer to your store, or to a reseller or marketplace?
  • After you fix the product information, does the answer change?

ProductKnowledgeGraph answers those questions for your products and fixes

what can be fixed: it publishes official, source-backed records of your

products that AI systems can read and cite, re-checks the buyer questions,

and shows what changed. This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to it:

  • Product schema pointer for AI search. On each product page whose SKU or

GTIN matches an official record, the plugin adds a server-side JSON-LD

subjectOf link to that record, with your product page as the source. No

match — no markup, not one byte. Crawlers see it without running

JavaScript.

  • AI Product Coverage dashboard. How many of your products already have

an official AI-readable record, how many do not yet, and your AI Readiness.

  • “AI Status” column on the Products list: Published / Not published.
  • Your feed on your own domain at /.well-known/productknowledgegraph.json.
  • Optional one-click “Share catalogue”. Announces your store’s public

catalogue endpoint so more of your products can be covered by official

records. Nothing is uploaded from your site.

  • Safe by default. A 12-hour cache; a temporary fetch failure never

breaks your site or removes markup that was already serving.

The plugin reads your catalogue and writes markup. It does not read orders,

customers or payments, does not load any external JavaScript, and does not

change your page content.

External Services

com)

for two things, both under your control:

  • Downloading your Official Product Feed from the URL you paste into the

settings. The request is made from your server in the background (at

most twice a day, or when you press “Update Product Records”) and sends

no data about your site, products, orders or visitors — it is a plain

GET of a JSON file. No request is made until you configure the feed.

  • Only when you press “Share catalogue”: one POST that announces your

site address, your public WooCommerce Store API URL and your published

product count, so ProductKnowledgeGraph can read your public catalogue

and cover more products with official records. No product data, orders,

customers or visitor data are sent by the plugin itself, and no request

happens without that explicit click.
